XML and secure data management in an ambient world

摘要

After giving a short introductory overview of XML data management and security techniques, the paper focuses on secure data management requirements in ambient intelligence. The main challenge here is to address the issue of integrating security constraints in the data management operations that are used in ambient intelligence. As an example of the kind of issues that are encountered and the kind of solutions that are needed, two research activities on secure XML data management in the ambient intelligence context are described. The one addressing the issues of ambient content access, and the second addressing the issues of data management operations on encrypted XML meta-data.
