3rd Shaanxi-Beijing line starts

The third Shaanxi-Beijing gas pipeline project has started operation and will increase gas transport capacity to Beijing by 40.8%, the National Development and Reform Commission said February 14. It has boosted gas supplies to Beijing to 69 million cubic meters/day from 49 million cu m/day. The total annual gas transport capacity with the first, second and third Shaanxi-Beijing gas pipeline projects has increased to 35 Bern/year, according to NDRC. The third Shaanxi-Beijing gas pipeline project starts in Yulin city in northern China's Shaanxi province and ends at the Yongqing distribution station in Hebei province with a total length of 896 km. Construction started in May 2009.
