On a second reading, it became apparent the legendary chairman of CIB for EMEA at Bank of America Merrill Lynch is not about to hang his braces up. The retirement trade in question, in fact, was for one of his clients - the IPO of Saga, the over-50s holidays-to-insurance provider. Further evidence that Hume-Kendall is not about to put down the IPO prospectus and pick up the holiday brochure came last month when he completed the London marathon, raising money for Action Medical Research.
