Asia may be finally making its mark in the world of leveraged finance with a potential record-breaking buyout of British retailer Tesco's South Korean unit. BNP Paribas and HSBC have put on the table a stapled financing of more than W4trn (US$3.6bn) for prospective bidders targeting homeplus, setting the stage for the biggest leveraged buyout loan in Asia since the global financial crisis.
