Ireland's new mortgage lending regulations could stabilise the property market in the long run, reducing the risk of house price bubbles, but will increase rent costs and see first-time buyers renting for longer, Moody's said. The rules, which limit LTV ratios at 90% and 70% for owner-occupied mortgages and buy-to-let mortgages, will improve the quality of new mortgages, the agency said.
