The Fed's move to hike its funds target by 25bp for the second time in as many years was as expected, though equity investors did not react as such. Investor disappointment stemmed from communications that now call for three rate hikes in 2017, as opposed to two previously. The DJIA reversed course on Wednesday to close 0.6% lower at 19,792.53, after flirting with 20,000 (19,966 intraday high) in the minutes after the 2pm New York Fed hike. With energy and telecoms showing the way, all major industry groups were off on the decision, with the lone exception being financials.
