Italian pricing under pressure

Pricing on syndicated loans made to Italian companies is under pressure as Italian bank funding costs rise on the back of the political uncertainty that has affected the country since the installation of an EU-sceptic coalition government in June. During the European sovereign debt crisis in 2011-2012, many Italian companies were forced to pay hefty premiums on their loans to cover peripheral risk and overcome the reluctance of international banks to lend.
