THE NORMALLY DOUR and straight-talking John Cryan has brought some unexpected new year cheer by promising to bring back "normal" bonuses for Deutsche's top performers. This comes after the bank cancelled bonuses last year and instigated a pay freeze - although at the same time it also increased compensation for a number of key staff, thereby actually paying up to keep its stars. Nevertheless the re-instatement of normal bonuses for all should be seen as good news, depending that is, on your definition of "normal".
