Commerzbank's Reuther reflects on turbulent 13 years

This month marks the end of a landmark year for commerzbank. The German lender, having explored a tie-up with Deutsche Bank, has embarked on the latest iteration of its restructuring firmly focused on serving mittelstand clients. And the man in charge of delivering that service to corporate clients, Michael Reuther, is leaving the bank after 13 years on the board. When he started his tenure in October 2006, Apple had not even launched the iPhone. Now Commerzbank customers can use their iPhones to make contactless payments thanks to a recent collaboration with Apple, showing the seismic changes in banking since Reuther joined from Deutsche Bank 13 years ago.
