China's banks warned last week that they face pressure on earnings and asset quality as interest rate reforms squeeze margins and a Sino-US trade war adds to economic uncertainty. Five of China's top banks each reported a profit rise of about 5% in the first half of the year, but some warned that they faced mounting headwinds.
