The classical precision-wound package has provided the benchmark for yarn packages in the textile industry for many years. This type of package provides an exceptionally uniform structure but, unfortunately, cannot be wound at conventional high speeds and is limited in package size. Consequently, fiber producers must settle for the less desirable random-wound package.
