摘要

The International Monetary Fund is proposing a multibillion dollar "green fund" to assist developing countries as they transition to lower carbon emitting energy sources, the fund's managing director said Jan. 30 during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.rnDominique Strauss-Kahn, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, proposed the green fund during a World Economic Forum panel discussion on the outlook for the global economy following the current economic downturn. As part of the recovery, she said, developing countries should pursue low-carbon growth as they develop their economies. But funding the transition will require assistance from wealthier nations, she said.
