Canada Finalizes Regulations Implementing System of Fines for Environmental Offenses

Environment Canada July 4 published final regulations designating which environmental offenses are subject to a new schedule of fines established by a 2009 law. The Regulations Concerning the Designation of Regulatory Provisions for Purposes of Enforcement implement the new regime for offenses related to 25 specific regulations under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA).
