IPCC to Update Guidelines for Compiling National Greenhouse Gas Inventories

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) announced June 7 it will draw up new guidelines to help countries more accurately measure the impact of agriculture, forestry, and changes in land use on greenhouse gas emissions. In a statement, IPCC said its governing body agreed at a Geneva meeting to ask its Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories to update its guidance on greenhouse gas emissions and removals from land use, land use change, and forestry (LULUCF).
