South Korea Clamps Down on Indoor Air Quality in Buildings

South Korea is strengthening preventive measures against hazardous materials to tighten control over indoor air quality, pollutants and toxic sub-stances in public areas and construction materials. The amended Indoor Air Quality Control Act, implemented Dec. 23, focuses on minimizing indoor air pollution sources by introducing a pre-compliance check system for building materials. It also aims to strengthen the management system for health hazard materials such as radon and fine particulate matter (PM-2.5).
