Legal and Policy Issues in the Development of the Nigerian Nascent Electricity Market

In this article, the author has examined the Nigerian electricity market and its current arrangements (including the development of the Nigerian electricity market from its inception to its current position after its liberalisation and privatisation). The electricity sector was essentially publicly owned to begin with before the reforms in 2005 that began the process of increasing private participation in electricity generation in Nigeria.
