Protective Textile to Feature in Sailing Apparel

Deflexion, a protective textile developed by Dow Corning, is to feature in a range of sailing apparel to be launched by British retailer Henri Lloyd in 2011. The silicone-based material will be used for inserts in the knee, seat and stomach area of the garments. This is the first time sailing clothing has been constructed with internal pockets built to contain a flexible protective material insert, said Dow Corning. The Shockwave line will include sailing Jackets, salopettes, smocks, hooded smocks and shorts.
