To cater for increased volumes, new developments including an 8ha expansion and the expected growth at its terminals, ZHD has invested in the modernisation of its cranes and recently ordered a new mobile harbour crane, HMK 170 EG, from Gottwald. The crane has a boom length of 38m and a lifting capacity of 63 tonnes and is equipped for bulk handling, general cargo and container handling. The new Gottwald crane was delivered to the premises of ZHD Stevedoring in Dordrecht and became operational in July. The delivery of this mobile harbour crane, together with the purchase of a Sennebogen 850 in May this year gives an extra boost to this process and the activities of ZHD. In the meantime ZHD has the disposal of seven mobile and three floating cranes. ZHD is a privately owned, independent stevedoring company, with terminals in Dordrecht and Moerdijk. Apart from these terminals ZHD is also active with self-propelled floating cranes in Rotterdam.
