Distillers in Czech have demanded compensation for the costs they will accrue from having to put new excise duty stamps on their bottles. Around US$752,000 is being requested from the country's finance ministry. The stamps have been introduced following 35 deaths in the country this summer from spirits tainted with industrial methanol.
