Pipeline girth weld inspection

Shaw Inspection Systems has launched two new products primarily aimed at the pipeline girth weld X-ray markets on both land-lines and offshore pipe laying operations. The systems also have applications in the pipe mill and pipe spool yards. The products cover pipelines from 8" to 30" in diameter as standard. Both systems eradicate X-ray film, film chemistry and the darkroom. Radiographic images are acquired and interpreted in real-time and archived to a database, which also stores the inspection reports. Results are burnt to DVD for long-term storage.
