The Air Force plans to deploy a new high-power, airborne camera system to Afghanistan in the coming months, despite problems revealed in a critical testing memo last month, according to a service officials. Service officials have fixed or are fixing three major deficiencies discovered during field testing of the Gorgon Stare wide-area airborne surveillance pod, Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Philip Breedlove told lawmakers Wednesday. Testers from the 53rd Wing at Eglin Air Force Base, FL, recommended those three issues be fixed before the system is fielded.
