UKAS accreditation for coumarin analysis

Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL) has recently gained UKAS accreditation for its highly sensitive test for coumarin.rnCoumarin is naturally found at low levels in cinnamon and some essential oils, but at higher levels in species such as cassia, which are sometimes sold as cinnamon in Europe. It has been identified as a potential liver toxin and so the EU Flavouring Directive 88/388/EEC sets a consumption limit.
