摘要

Food safety has been a priority worldwide for several decades. This is due to health, social and economic reasons. However, recent food safety crises emphasize that despite all the controls introduced in the last decade, our food chaln is still vulnerable. Similalry, food waste is a major problem that must be tackled to malntaln and use our resources in a sustalnable manner. This is therefore our mission to ensure that the safety and quality of our food supply is not compromised. Another area of concern is the aging population with changing populations' lifestyle and food consumption patterns, resulting in health problems and diet-related diseases. Recent advances in calorie restriction research on aging have revealed that reduced calorie intake contributes to the extension of both median and maximum lifespan as well as the suppression of age-related diseases. New technological tools are needed to overcome these overwhelming challenges.
