ProVeg is an international food awareness organisation working to transform the global food system by replacing conventional animal products with plant-based and clean alternatives. ProVeg works with companies, governments, public institutions, medical professionals and the public, to help the world transition to a more plant-based society and economy that is sustainable for humans, animals and the planet. What is driving and influencing plant-based trends? Verena Wiederkehr: The breakthrough for plant-based alternatives has been led by both retailers and food manufacturers who recognise the enormous potential of these rather new categories. Meanwhile, companies are aware that it is good not only for turnover, but also for corporate image as consumers are increasingly looking at the sustain-ability efforts of companies, and making their choices accordingly.
