Digital Divides in Europe: Culture, Politics and the Western-Southern Divide

This is a challenging work of scholarship, and not in any negative sense of the word. The major task of this dense work was to employ the European Social Survey 2008 data and to test "the role of social culture and decision-making ... so as to draw conclusions about the driving forces of the Western-Southern European divide" (209). The ensuing analysis considered Internet adoption as the product of the interaction between culture and decision making and focused on the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Greece, as countries representative of the Western-Southern divide (and Tsatsou, of course, has particular expertise with respect to Greece).
