THE P1605 AND P1606 WORKING GROUP REPORT - A review of installation and safety and work practices documents for Europe and North America

THIS ARTICLE PRESENTS A HISTORY TO DATE FOR PI605 and P1606 Working Group (WG) committee efforts to compile, review, and compare codes and standards to help determine applicable safety, product installation, and maintenance standards practices related to electrical equipment requirements of various countries. The compilation efforts and listings are intended to provide information on similar subject materials and a description^ the organizational references as defined by the different regions and governments that develop and use the material. Comparisons will be drawn illustrating the similarities and differences of selected documents (e.g., voltages, frequencies, wiring methods, and conductor selection). Scopes have been developed, and those anticipated to benefit from these efforts are being determined, with various strategies proposed to obtain and review documents covering these subjects. These committee efforts will make available comprehensive guides/models so those needing to do so can quickly determine the applicable information for a variety of electrical system locations.
