Shipping as Infrastructure to International Trade Emerging Trends Challenges and Need for New Perspectives

Investigating into the infrastructure problems in India in relation to competitiveness of Indian products selling abroad, a World Bank team headed by Mr. Hans J. Peters has computed that 22 per cent of the cost of finished products could be ascribed to logistics. Apart from transport, logistics cost covers the major heads of storage, inventory, financing and packaging.
