Enhanced Production at CLW

With the adaptation of new technologies, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) had excelled in production of electric locomotive of latest 3-phase technology. In 2016-17, total 292,3-phase electric locomotives were produced whereas in 2017-18, it is striving to break this record with a significant margin. CLW produced a total of 195, 3-phase electric locomotives in 2017-18 till November, which is about 13% higher in comparison with 173 produced in till last November. These 195 locomotives includes 126 nos., 6000HP, WAC-9H freight locomotives, 54 nos., 6000HP Passenger locomotives and 15 nos. semi-high speed WAP-5 locomotives. Various technological innovation has been taken for making reliable and energy efficient high speed electric locomotives from CLW.
