South East Central Railway (SECR) Geared up to Fight Coronavirus

South East Central Railway (SECR) has been developing 111 coaches into isolation wards and geared itself into readiness to combat the ill effects of coronoa virus. Railway staff have started the work on war foot level. Ill coaches on SECR are being modified as isolated wards. These coaches will be utilized in case the number of Coronavirus infected patient increases and hospitals run out of beds. This arrangement has been done as advanced preparation for patients. The coaches are being totally sanitized as per the specific procedure by the staff after which medical equipments are being installed to develop them as isolated wards. Non-Air Conditioned ICF sleeper coaches have been developed as quarantined isolated coaches. In the coaches, Indian type of toilet has been modified as washroom & being equipped with bucket, mug, soap dispenser, etc. Two of the cabins near washroom have been marked for the utilization of hospital and Para medical staff. Plastic curtains have been provided in the coaches. Two oxygen cylinders have been provided and windows of the coaches are covered with mosquito mess.
