SE Railway Gears Up It's Machineries to Combat Covid-19 Pandemic

During the unprecedented lockdown and severe restrictions in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, South Eastern Railway has undertaken elaborate measures as per the directives of Railway Board to prevent the spread of Novel Coronavirus. The massive measures taken by South Eastern Railway are enumerated as under: South Eastern Railway has completed the work for modification of 338 passenger coaches into Isolation/ Quarantine Coaches till now to accommodate patients in view of outbreak of COVID-19. The modified coaches have been equipped with necessary facilities for the Corona affected people. These have been modified at Santragachi Depot, Kha-ragpur Workshop, Tatanagar Depot and Hatia Depot under guidance of Medical Department of South Eastern Railway. Railway Board has fixed the target of 329 isolation/ quarantine coaches and South Eastern Railway has surpassed the Board's target with the help of its committed staff and officers.
