The Gold Mark of Transportation in the Region

The dawn of 2th October, 1966 heralded the birth of South Central Railway as the 9th Zone on Indian Railways with Shri S.K. Patil, the then Minister of Railways doing the honors at a grand event held at Secunderabad. Sharing the birth day with that of the father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, meant that the zone has to live up to his ideals as a service organisation which treats customers as the most important visitors to its premises. Today, South Central Railway with a route kilometer length of 6234 Km and 754 stations acts as the virtual link connecting the North, East and West of the country with the South.
