This paper presents a detailed study on energy absorption and moment carrying capacity of two way slabs with blended concrete under flexural loads. The two way slab specimen were subjected to flexural loading by using Whiffle -Tree loading arrangement. The cyclic load test has been performed on the two way slab specimen. The cyclic load curves and bending moment co-efficients were also obtained based on the experimental data using yield analysis. The slab specimen were cast using M30 grade concrete with High Yield Strength Deformed bars. For making specimen two types of concrete mixes were used. First type concrete mix consists of cement and fly ash. In this mix cement is partially replaced with Fly ash at different percentages i.e., 0 to 30% at regular intervals of 10%. Another type of concrete mix consists of cement and ground granulated blast furnace slag. In this mix cement is partially replaced by ground granulated blast furnace slag at different percentages i.e, 0 to 30%. The test results indicate that the two way slab specimen with partial replacement of cement by mineral admixtures i.e., Fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag exhibit high energy absorption and a little improvement in ductility was noticed when compared to the control specimens i.e., zero replacement of cement. An analytical model has been developed using finite element method and the experimental deflections were correlated with analytical model developed and the results both experimental and analytical model found satisfactory.
