CHANGING OF WEED DENSITY DUE TO MULTIFARIOUS FACTORS IN SELECTED FOREST AREAS OF PASCHIM MEDINIPUR, WEST BENGAL, INDIA

摘要

Density of Lantana camara Linn and Crotalaria pallida Ait have altered in different forest areas of Paschim Medinipur due to many environmental factors. Forest cleansing, grazing and browsing by cattle, human interference, rampant uprooting of plant for medicinal as well as other utilization, habitat transfer, allelopathic effect, pollution and climate change make rapid modification in density of weed plants. Sustainable management is only way to protect weeds from rapid detriment.
