The Royal Photographic Society was first formed in 1853 to 'promote the art and science' of photography, a goal which is carefully maintained to this day. The Imaging Science Journal represents a strong part of the Society's science activities, which also include conferences, lectures, seminars, qualifications and the activities of the Imaging Science Group. The Imaging Science Journal is perhaps the oldest peer-reviewed journal in this field still published today, and we enjoy strong support from the Society for our activities.
