無線メッシュネットワークにおける半固定レート設定方式の提案

摘要

In the wireless mesh networks that support multi rate transmission, it is necessary to select the transmission rate at each link. The fixed-rate selection method which selects the optimal rate for each link based on the measurement in advance and fixes that rate for the following data transmission can achieve higher throughput than the auto-rate selection method which searches the suitable rate dynamically during data transmission. However, the fixed-rate selection method needs periodical measurement to determine optimal rate for each link to cope with variation of radio conditions. We propose the hybrid-rate selection method which combines the advantage of the auto-rate selection method and the fixed-rate selection method. Conventional auto-rate selection method is difficult to select the optimal rate if there are hidden nodes. In the proposed method, the rate adjustment occurs only based on success/failure of data transmission after RTS/CTS exchange. It is shown by simulation that the hybrid-rate selection method selects the optimal rate even if there are hidden nodes and outperforms the auto-rate selection method.%無線メッシュネットワークにおいてマルチレート通信が可能な場合，各リンクでの送信レート選択が課題となる．各リンクに最適なレートを事前測定し，そのレートを固定的に用いる方式（固定レート方式）は動的に最適レートを探索する方式（オートレート方式）に比べて高いスループットを実現できるが，定期的な事前測定が必要となる．そこでオートレート方式と固定レート方式を組み合わせた半固定レート設定方式を提案する．ただし，従来のオートレートでは隠れ端末が存在すると適切なレート選択が困難になる．そこでオートレート区間ではRTS/CTS を動作させ，隠れ端末の影響を排除した環境でデータパケットに対するACK の有無のみに基づいて最適レートを探索するように変更した．これにより半固定レート設定方式は隠れ端末が存在しても適切なレート選択が可能であることをシミュレーションにより示した．
