In this paper, a new simple current controller with bothnsatisfactory steady-state characteristics and fast transient response isnproposed. In this scheme, a reference modification part is incorporatednwith the generally used synchronous-frame proportional-integral (PI)ncontroller for the fast transient response. Simulation and experimentalnresults are presented and show the effectiveness of the proposed currentncontroller. In the simulation and experimental results, both the currentncontroller and DC-link regulator show conspicuous performancenimprovement. It is also observed in the simulation and experiment thatnthe proposed current controller has a similar characteristic as thensynchronous-frame PI controller in the steady state and as thenminimum-time current controller in the transient state
