Texture study of magnets made from anisotropic HDDR powders

摘要

The texture in magnets made from NdFeB anisotropic HDDR powders was examined using an inverse pole figure and [006] pole figure. Unlike anisotropic magnets made by hot deformation, the magnets produced in the present study did not show a strong preferred orientation. The [006] pole figure of these magnets shows a weak [006] texture in contrast to that observed for the anisotropic magnets made by the hot deformation process. TEM studies carried out on these samples indicate that they contain some grains which have grown bigger than the adjacent small grains. Alignment of flakes with large grains in an applied magnetic field makes these magnets made from HDDR powders anisotropic.
