摘要

In the academic year 1977–78, the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, offered its IEEE Student Branch the use of a large vacant laboratory on the top floor of the engineering building. With the support of their Regional Director, G. F. Glass, the Branch persuaded the IEEE Winnipeg Section to advance them funds to clean up and paint the place. Later, the Section provided more money, which was used for work benches and to establish a facility for satellite tracking, microprocessor study, and personal ham radio projects.
