Successive interference cancellation with SISO decoding and EMchannel estimation

We derive a low-complexity receiver scheme for joint multiuserndecoding and parameter estimation of code division multiple accessnsignals. The resulting receiver processes the users serially andniteratively and makes use of soft-in soft-out single-user decoders, ofnsoft interference cancellation and of expectation-maximization parameternestimation as the main building blocks. Computer simulations show thatnthe proposed receiver achieves near single-user performance at very highnchannel load (number of users per chip) and outperforms conventionalnschemes with similar complexity
