摘要

Europe is currently embroiled in an economic crisis that is calling into question systems of production which are based on residential and tourist-oriented construction and development and have major social implications. Spain, Portugal, Greece and, to a lesser extent, Italy have specialized in residential construction, both to satisfy a growing internal demand for family housing and to provide second homes to meet national and international demand. On the other hand, income growth in North and Central Europe stimulated demand for second homes, often with a preference for Mediterranean locations where there is a broad but relatively localized real estate supply, which meets the growing demand from all of Europe and has contributed to increasing transnational mobility. However, the financial crisis has put an end to further expansion of this development model.
