NEW MOBILE APP WILL HELP ADDRESS RURAL BROADBAND ACCESS

A partnership between the National Association of Counties (NACo), the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP), and Rural LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) will address the need for affordable high-speed internet for rural communities. The three organizations have developed "Tes-tlT"-a mobile app that allows mobile phone users to accurately identify areas with low or no internet connectivity. Snapshots of individual tests will be collected within a database. Using this data, the organizations will advocate for adequate funding for broadband infrastructure.
