It is a Government priority to ensure that existing and new heating installers are competent to install and maintain energy-efficient heating and hot water systems. The new building regulations which come into force from April 2005 aim to reduce carbon emissions by improving the average energy efficiency of systems largely through the installation of condensing boilers. As part of the High Efficiency push, thousands of installers are required to undertake the Certificate in Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating (C&G 6084 Level 3): a one day course which has been specifically developed to prepare them for the change in the regulations and to encourage them to have a positive attitude towards high efficiency products based on sound knowledge and product confidence.
