Report Summarizes Lessons Learned by EPA's Response to Hurricane Katrina

EPA's emergency response actions following Hurricane Katrina have been evaluated by EPA's Office of Inspector General (OIG). The OIG's most recent report assessed whether EPA followed its emergency response protocols set forth in the National Response Plan (NRP) to ensure that environmental concerns were addressed. In addition, OIG determined lessons learned by EPA as a result of the hurricane response efforts, and investigated whether the agency's performance had been improved based on input gathered after the World Trade Center collapse.
