Tanks Made Easy with Coils

The difficulty in moving a bulk storage tank means that new tank fabrication tends to take place in the field. The downside of this is that the plates for the tank shell have to be delivered to the site ready-formed and scaffolding has to be erected, which extends fabrication time and introduces worker safety issues. All this brings additional costs to the project. Recently introduced into the US, however, is a tank fabrication process that promises to avoid these problems. CIMID Corp, which specializes in vessel fabrication equipment, now offers equipment for fabricating tanks from steel coil and/or flat plates in a much shorter time. The number and length of welds is reduced, as is the need for scaffolding, since most work goes on at ground level. This construction method results in significantly reduced costs compared to normal tank construction methods.
