It is rocket science

Meter provers meter provers are not the best understood piece of kit at the terminal - not surprising, when one considers where the technology comes from. A look back over the history of leading supplier Calibron explains why. When someone said to Ed Francisco that developing his small volume meter prover for the petroleum industry "wasn't rocket science", he had to chuckle, because actually it did start that way. Francisco, a 1941 graduate of Georgia Tech, was, in fact, a true pioneer in rocket engineering development. His experience in rapid flow measurement techniques for the Redstone and other US rocket programmes provided him with the insight and expertise to develop his first small volume flow provers.
