In July 2002, 52 tank cars of a Canadian National (CN) train derailed during switching in the Joffre Yard at Levis, Quebec. The cars contained residues of fuel oil and gasoline; 51 of them overturned. Fortunately no one was hurt and there was no pollution. Perhaps significantly, one empty bulkhead flatcar derailed but did not roll over. Residents of Clara City, Minnesota, were less fortunate. In October 2007 a Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) train struck another train parked on the track and at least 50 tank cars derailed.
