The Green Zone: Architectures of Precarious Politics

Over a decade after its establishment, the Green Zone remains the safest place in Iraq. It is the seat of government, and the last bulwark against the state's total collapse. Access to the sector signifies access to power, which in contemporary Baghdad means extensive privileges, or a veritable compromise of a barely maintained semblance of stability.
