摘要

In his recent book Ta-Nehisi Coates reveals that from a young age he has always known fear. He witnessed and experienced fear as he sat on the front steps of his Baltimore home, watching the ritual of a street fight and the "extravagant boys" standing on the corner in their puffy coats. He saw how these boys inhabited the street spaces and "transmuted their fear into rage ... because it was the only way they might feel any sense of security and power."
