The company started its change process about three years ago by developing itself from a German KG (limited partnership)-related business to an internationally recognised ship manager. CEO Nils Aden explains: »Based on our experience and know-how, the long history and reputation, we transformed ourselves into a ship management provider focused on international top class customers and their special needs. Our service approach takes the perspective of a shipowner: We put as much emphasis on maintaining the value of each ship as on its efficient operation, applying our customers' preferred key performance indicators (KPI).« Likewise, E.R. Schif-fahrt sees itself as an intermediate between the vessel owner and the charterer, adding value by ensuring the reliable performance of the vessel.
