London Mayor Sadiq Khan has said he wants to cut waste at 'flabby' Transport for London (TfL) in a new five-year business plan published last month. Infrastructure investments in the plan include bringing forward the extension of the Bakerloo Line, with a new completion date of 2028/9 rather than 2031. Other work includes introducing the Elizabeth line, new signalling on the Metropolitan, Hammersmith and City, District and Circle lines and further upgrading the Jubilee and Northern Line. Station upgrades to be completed include Victoria, Bond Street and Finsbury Park. In addition, modernisation of Camden and Holborn stations will start, the Northern line will be extended to Battersea, and the London Overground extended to Barking Riverside.
